We ship this boat on a pallet because if a freight carrier is going to put a fork lift through the side of the boat, no packaging would stop it. Also when it is open, the carriers are more careful with the shipment. If we put a crate around it the shipping rate triples and damage rates go up because the carrier wants to put heavy things on top of the crate, which breaks the crate causing hidden damage and it still doesn't stop a forklift from poking through the sides. This method is for LTL shipping only, container packaging is different.
