1. Eligibility for Returns
General Returns
- Most manufacturers offer a 7-day return period from the date of delivery.
- Items must be unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging.
- If you decide you “just don’t like it” and the product is undamaged, you may return it subject to fees (see below).
Non-Returnable Items
- Customizable boats
- Inflatable boats
- Outboard motors
- Other items specifically noted by your sales representative
- Items that have been modified, damaged, or improperly maintained after delivery
2. Fees and Charges
- Restocking Fees: A restocking fee of 15%-50% of the product price may apply when you return an item for reasons other than manufacturer defects. If you reject a boat for cosmetic reasons, you may also be responsible for freight and restocking fees.
- Return Shipping Costs: Customers are responsible for all return shipping or freight costs, including any fees for the return journey to the factory or processing centers.
3. Return Process
For General Returns (Non-Defective Items):
- Contact Us First: Before returning any product, please call our sales team or customer service at 229-924-8155 or email us at info@directboats.com. We will verify your eligibility and provide specific return instructions.
- Prepare the Item: Repackage the product in its original packaging and ensure it is secure and undamaged.
- Ship the Item: Follow the provided shipping instructions. You are responsible for arranging and paying for the return shipping.
- Refund Processing: Once the item is received and inspected, we will process your refund (minus any applicable restocking fees and shipping charges).
For Defective or Incorrect Items:
- Immediate Notification: If you believe your product is defective or if you have received the wrong item, contact us immediately. Claims for damaged, defective, or incorrect items must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
- Documentation: Take clear photographs of the product from multiple angles, including any areas of damage or defect. Also, note any damage on the delivery receipt before the freight carrier departs.
- Submit a Claim: Email your photos and a detailed written description of the issue to info@directboats.com. We will coordinate with the manufacturer to determine whether the product is defective.
- Manufacturer’s Decision: If the manufacturer confirms the defect, they will either repair or replace the product. If the manufacturer determines the product is not defective, you may be held responsible for return shipping and any additional charges.
4. Additional Considerations
- Inspection at Delivery: We strongly recommend that you inspect your product at the time of delivery. If the delivery driver does not allow inspection, you may note “Subject To Later Inspection” on the delivery receipt, but you must inspect the item immediately upon arrival.
- Misprints and Discrepancies: In the event of misprints or discrepancies (such as color variations) on our website, please notify us immediately. These are usually unintentional, and we will do our best to resolve any issues.
- Legal Matters: All legal matters concerning returns and disputes must be brought to Sumter County, Georgia, United States of America.
